Suggested Books - To help you learn to speak, read and write in Italian
"This is the book we use for our Verb Drills Workshop. They go over each tense of Italian Verb Conjugation along with providing a comprehensive vocabulary of verbs. It makes understanding the Italian Verb Easier" - Chuck | "This book contains a series of short stories. After each story there are questions, fill in the blanks, T or F and crossword puzzles with answer key in the back. There's a vocabulary list in the very back of the book as well. I hope you all enjoy :)" - Mercedes
"This is the book is expensive but extremely helpful. It is actually a well rounded program in the Italian Language text book" - Chuck
This Book was suggested by Mari! | "Marinella M. Griffith suggested that I buy this book. I am so glad I did. It serves as a study aid to compliment the study of Italian Grammar by defining grammatical terms first in the English Language and then comparing them to their Italian counterparts. Thank you Marinella "
I have to admit for the size that this book is a little on the small side but I still have to recommend it! It is written in Italian in one to two page chapters. I was able to understand it while reading and picked up a fair amount of vocabulary along the way. I think it makes a great easy reader! It does define a few terms like the easy reader but doesn't provide the end of chapter exercises. | I know, another phrase book, but honestly I still love collecting them. How many times has somebody speaking Italian asked or told you something you knew how to say but in a different way that you didn't understand. Like English there are times where there are multiple acceptable ways to say things and I have found multiple phrase books actually help with illuminate this fact.
...another really handy book..."750 Italian Verbs and Their Uses" by Brunella Dutton. Unlike most verb books, this book does not conjugate the 750 verbs. Rather, it takes these 750 most commonly used verbs and presents numerous examples of use for each...in various tenses. - Rich Bennett | This is the book we use for our Comprehension Reader 1 class. It is a great "beginning intermediate" book for practice reading with 3 to 5 page chapters followed by a variety of exercises. Not to mention while very simplistic I found the story line interesting being a student of Italian.

So far, this is absolutely my favorite Italian CD. The music (in my opinion) is great and she articulates very well making it a little easier to understand which makes for good practice in listening to Italian. And now, you can sample some of this CD at our Laura Pausini music video page. |
Another great Italian CD. The music is more along the lines of smooth jazz. Definitely appropriate for those romantic nights. And now, you can sample some of this CD at our Sergio Cammaeriere music video page. |

I bought this CD while I was in Naples, Italy and I have to say that I love it! Now on some of the faster songs the words aren't as clear but the set does come with the words (tiny but there) If you like classic rock or rock ballads and Italian you'll probably enjoy this. And now, you can sample some of this CD at our Vasco Rossi music video page. |
I actually found this CD in a used record store in Dallas TX of all places but I love it. His style varies greatly depending on the song but I love his "Blue/Rhythm and Blues" style songs. Not all of the songs on this CD are in Italian but it is still worth the listen. He sings with a wide variety of stars (many you know) on this CD and my favorite song by him is on this CD. |
This is an awesome Italian Music CD set. It's hard to explain her sound other than beautiful. She crosses quite a few genres and even gets a little on the edge at times. Among her sounds you'll find ballads, a little Motown influence, some American favorites among many others. And now, you can sample some of this CD at our Giorgia music video page. |

If you appreciate contemporary acoustic guitar and a great male vocalist that articulates well then I think you will love this CD set! And now, you can sample some of this CD at our Eros Ramazzotti music video page. | Absolutely fantastic CD (I think). Great for vocabulary building. I like the lyrical content so much shortly after receiving it I memorized two songs. It has helped me a lot.
Beautiful piano music performed by an incredibly talented Italian. | Another great CD from Laura Pausini released in November 2011 | As of autumn of 2011 this was Giorgia's latest release. Some nice beats on this work.

I actually love Rosetta Stone - going through it for my 3rd time now. It is very expensive and it is not enough in itself (my opinion) but it is a great tool to have in your tool box for learning Italian as does help a lot in many aspects. | I have to be honest, not a big fan & thought it was cheesy but then I am used to Rosetta Stone. It is a cheap way though to get some interactive exercises with sound (pronunciation) on the computer. I guess it can serve a purpose | I have never seen or used this one but there are a few in our group that have and seem to like it. Now, once again, It is not enough in itself but it is a nice additional tool to have around (is my understanding).

Not only is this a good movie to hear in Italian while you can read the subtitles in English, but it is also just a fantastic movie with (in my opinion) great acting and an absolutely wonder moral to the story. I highly recommend this video. Carlo
